How do images teach us what to desire, and what falls outside the frame? This online exhibition presents Sections 03 and 04 of Li Shaoran’s curatorial project.

03 / Secondhand Portraits

A pose, an avatar or a borrowed lifestyle can stand in for a person. These works ask how a self-image changes as it circulates online and becomes something others can judge, share or consume.

04 / Snooze in Five

Pressing snooze buys five minutes before the alarm rings again. Digital worlds can offer a similar reprieve. Here the works trace the bodies, labour and material infrastructures that sustain that brief escape.
